I chatted with my friend Denise, the owner of San Francisco vintage jewelry shop elle-même, about Art Deco style. We look at some of the Deco pieces in her collection and the characteristics of 1920s jewelry. I learned a lot!

Newest release = Deco West & East
Just like West Egg and East Egg in The Great Gatsby, so too do we have two sides. The West is warm and golden in copper, and the East is shiny and slick in silver. What’s your mood?
See details here.
What started with the Gatsby-inspired contest necklace (see previous post) turned into a month of Art Deco pieces. Here’s one, layered copper and sterling silver. Can’t tell in the photo, but it’s on a looooong chain, in flapper tradition. So far, great response to this piece.
More later this week…
One more day to enter the contest to WIN this Art Deco-inspired necklace!

April 6 = Bobby McFerrin & band performed here in Reno.
This video is from a concert of his in March, but it’s very representative of the concert I saw. (And much better video than anything I could capture from the back of the hall).
He is a perfect example of letting go and enjoying the creative process in the moment. Really a great reminder of getting back to the heart of why we create: joy.
Beyond stoked - my March piece, “Double Luck,” made the cut in the Reno Gazette-Journal’s Reno Extra section this past Sunday!
Much thanks to Cat Stahl of Onward Kitty for her support.
